John is a Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS) and Regional Manager Victoria, with more than 25 years’ experience investigating, assessing and remediating contaminated land.
He works across complex soil, groundwater and soil vapour matters, helping clients understand how contamination behaves, what risks it presents, and what practical actions are needed to manage those risks. His experience includes preliminary and detailed site investigations, human health and ecological risk assessment, soil vapour assessment, environmental due diligence, contaminated site audit support and remediation strategy.
John has worked on sites with complex industrial histories, including petroleum facilities, manufactured gas plants, defence sites, mining operations, landfills, power generation sites, transport infrastructure and major redevelopment projects.
His mining experience includes work across large operational and legacy sites in Western Australia, including mine lease investigations, acid mine drainage risk assessment, ecological risk assessment, hydrocarbon plume assessment and bioremediation performance review. This gives John a strong understanding of the environmental and operational risks that can affect mining projects, from investigation and approvals through to remediation, rehabilitation and long-term site management.
As Regional Manager Victoria, John leads EESI’s Victorian team and provides senior technical direction across complex client matters. His role brings together scientific judgement, project oversight and practical decision-making to support clear, defensible environmental outcomes.
